Between work, family, and weekend plans, deep cleaning your home can feel impossible. The good news is that a real deep clean isn't about scrubbing everything every day — it's about hitting the right surfaces in the right order. Here's the checklist our team follows in homes across Northglenn, Thornton, Westminster, and the rest of the north Denver metro.
Start in the kitchen. Clear the counters completely, wipe down the small appliances (the toaster crumb tray included), degrease the stovetop and hood, scrub the sink and faucet, and finish with the floor. Don't skip the inside of the microwave or the seal around the fridge door — those are the two spots that surprise people most.
Bathrooms come next. Pre-treat the grout and shower glass first and let the product sit while you work on the toilet, sink, and mirrors. Coming back to pre-treated surfaces means far less scrubbing. Finish with the floor so anything that drips gets cleaned up last.
Bedrooms and living areas are mostly about dust and high-touch surfaces. Strip and wash bedding, vacuum the mattress, then dust from high to low: ceiling fans, light fixtures, shelves, baseboards, light switches, and remotes. Vacuum and mop last, once all the dust has settled.
Colorado adds one more step. Dry air and dusty summers mean vents, window tracks, and screens collect a lot more than you'd expect. Adding those to your deep clean rotation twice a year makes a noticeable difference in how the whole house feels.
